My stay at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel was largely enjoyable, especially because of its unbeatable location by the waterfront, where I felt safe exploring. The rooms were spacious and clean, offering stunning views, though I did encounter a few issues with the shower fittings and some communication hiccups during check-in. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with great breakfasts and helpful staff, despite minor concerns about room assignments and additional charges for breakfast items.
Rooms
8.0
The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered a beautiful view of the waterfront. However, I initially received two single beds instead of a king as requested, which required a full day to resolve.
Service
8.0
The hotel staff were mostly friendly and helpful, providing an overall good service. Still, there were a few moments where they didn’t follow through on requests and it could have felt a bit more personal.

You can't beat the location right on the waterfront, with easy access to restaurants and attractions. I felt safe walking around, which is a huge plus for me.
Dining
8.0
The breakfast was impressive, with a wide variety of options and freshly cooked items. However, I was surprised to be charged for coffee, despite having paid for breakfast in advance. This felt a bit off for the price point of the hotel.
Facilities

The facilities were adequate, including valet parking and room service. However, the reliance on apps for information didn’t sit right with me, especially when links were outdated.

Staying at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel was a mixed experience for me. While the location was absolutely stunning and offered easy access to the vibrant V&A Waterfront, I was left feeling uneasy about security and overall room condition. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the issues with my security box and a tampered experience overshadowed my stay.

The room I stayed in was quite spacious and had a lovely view, but I noticed a large gap between the door and the frame which made it feel less secure. A rather tired layout was evident, and I felt it could benefit from some refreshing.
Service

The staff was generally friendly and attentive, checking us in promptly and even taking care of our bags until our room was ready. However, there were moments when it felt like service was a bit impersonal, especially during breakfast.

My stay at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel was a mixed bag. On the plus side, the location is fantastic—right by the waterfront and accessible to various restaurants and shops. The room I stayed in was spacious and had a lovely view of Table Mountain. However, I faced some service hiccups, particularly with the air conditioning and the room upkeep, which dampened my overall experience.

The room I had was spacious and beautifully decorated, overlooking both the Table Mountain and the vibrant waterfront shopping area, though some aspects seemed faded.

The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my trip. However, I wish they provided a bit more than just two bottles of complimentary water each day. Overall, it was an excellent experience! 😊
